In a statement made available to Akwa Ibom Online by the Senior Special Assistant on Media/Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh, the Akwa Ibom State Government has directed developers and owners of Petrol Stations located in the residential areas of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital to produce approval by Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) within 14 days from Friday, June 5, 2015 or have their stations demolished.
Mr. Udoh noted that the directive is in line with the discharge of government's cardinal duty of protection and safeguarding the lives of its citizens
Already, a petrol station located at Nwaniba Road opposite Uruan Street in Uyo has been demolished.
