Barely few hours to the expiration of the 5th Assembly, the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has held a special thanksgiving service to appreciate God and the people of the State for supporting them during their 4 year tenure.
The event started with the commissioning of the new Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Chapel by the State Governor; Mr. Udom Emmanuel. Mr. Emmanuel thanked the Lawmakers for raising a worship centre in the complex and commended them for naming the chapel; Chapel of Repentance.
Earlier, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sam Ikon expressed gratitude to God for helping the 5th Assembly achieve a lot during their 4 year tenure and thanked the people of the state for the support to ensure the success of the Assembly.
Meanwhile a valedictory session will be held today the 5th of June to officially bring to an end the tenure of the 5th Assembly
