The
ceremony which was held at the Council secretariat at 10 am on the dot,
was witnessed by the Head of Service, Heads of Departments, Principal
Staff of the council, the leadership of the
People's Democratic Party, Traditional Institution, other bigwigs in the area, as well as spouses of the appointees.
The oath of allegiance and oath of office were administered on the Secretary and other committee members by the Head, Legal Unit of the Council, Barr Idorenyin Augustine Usanga.
Speaking, the Council boss described members of the committee as tested and trusted people with high moral value.
While eulogizing the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for their appointment, the Chairman assured the Governor Emmanuel of their readiness to join him in ensuring prosperity for Mkpat Enin people in particular and Akwa Ibom in general.
He reminded members of the committee that the expectations are high, thus, they cannot afford to fail the people.
The Rt Hon Akpan stressed that his administration was poised to copy the Udom Emmanuel led government in making life better for his people, urging the Transition Committee members to put in their best.
Those sworn-in and portfolios are: Mr Stephen Ntukekpo, Secretary, Mr Chris Essien, Supervisor for Works and Infrastructure Development, Mr Iniobong Friday Akpan, Supervisor for Education, Youth and Sports and Elder Ukonsek Ukonsek, Supervisor for Agriculture.
Others were: Mr Emmanuel Daniel Udoh, Supervisor for Health and Social Services, Mrs Mfon Eshiet Udoumoren, Supervisor for Women Integration Development and Mobilization, Mr Unwanabasi Sunday Udoh, Supervisor for Environment and Eric Ekwere, Supervisor for Communication and Social Re-orientation.
Meanwhile, the council boss has made 4 additional appointments with Hon Isaac Sunday Akpan as the Chief of Staff.
Others include; Hon Cyril Umoren, Special Assistant Public Affairs and Strategy, Otuekong Hilary Oton, Special Assistant, Political Affairs and Social Integration and Mr Ufot Abia, Special Assistant, Projects Monitoring and Implementation.
In the same vein, as part of his inauguration programme, the Council Chairman, Ephraim Akpan, has fixed next week Tuesday being 22nd July to dedicate the new Mkpat Enin administration to God.
The event which will take place at the council secretariat is slated for 10 o clock in the morning. All are invited.
