The commissioner’s retirement takes effect from July 31, 2015, according to the police statement issued by the State Police Command headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia in Uyo.
Addressing some journalists in Uyo, the out-going CP Achong, thanked
God for seeing him through in the service, and expressed his
appreciation to the erstwhile government of Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio
(CON), for his immeasurable support to the police force throughout his
tenure as the state executive governor.
He also commended officers and men of the state police command, for their cooperation, hard work and loyalty, as well as traditional rulers, church leaders, the entire good people of Akwa Ibom State, and all other stakeholders in the state, for making his stay a memorable one, and urged them to extend same gesture to his successor.
